Import customers into Rekaz: prepare and choose the file

Last updated: September 22, 2026

Use Import when the customer information you want to add is already in a spreadsheet. Prepare a clean table, then match its columns and branches in Rekaz. Choosing a file starts the preparation steps; the final Upload button comes after the preview.

Customers → Actions → Import

Download Template

Download Rekaz’s customer template if you need a starting table. Use a fresh copy when your business has changed its customer fields. The template and mapping screen can include fields specific to your account, so another business’s spreadsheet may not have the same columns.

Fill in customer information under the appropriate headings. Keep any columns marked “Do not edit” unchanged. They are not spare columns for notes or additional customer information.

Drag and drop your file here, or click to browse

Choose a file in one of the listed formats: .xlsx, .xlsm, .xls or .csv. Keep one customer per row and a clear heading for each column. Put the customer table on the first worksheet when preparing an Excel workbook; do not rely on a second sheet to supply missing customer details.

Preserve phone numbers and registration numbers as identifiers while editing your spreadsheet. Check leading zeros and long numbers before selecting the file. A column heading that says “Mobile” cannot undo a number that the spreadsheet has already shortened or changed.

When Rekaz can read the file, it opens Map Columns. This does not mean the customers have been imported. You still need to review the column matches, branch assignments and preview.

The file appears to be empty

A file containing only column headings has no customer rows to import and shows this message. Add the intended customer rows in your spreadsheet, save the file and choose it again. Do not add an invented customer merely to get past the warning.

Maximum 5000 rows allowed

The file limit includes the heading row. For a simple table with one heading row, keep each file to no more than 4,999 customer rows. A file with 5,000 customers plus the heading exceeds the limit.

For a larger list, split it into separate files and keep the same headings in each. Make the batches non-overlapping: do not include the last customer of one batch again at the beginning of the next. Passing the file-size check is only permission to continue preparing the import, not confirmation that every row will be accepted.

Selected filename / Delete

The file step shows the selected filename. If it is the wrong file, use Delete beside that name, then choose its replacement. Here, Delete removes the selected file from this import draft; it does not delete customer records.

Removing the file also clears that draft’s mapping choices. Review the replacement file’s mappings from the beginning, even if its name looks similar to the previous version.

Next

Next is disabled while no readable file is selected. After selecting a file, continue through the mapping steps. If you return to this step with Previous, you can review the filename before continuing or replace the file if necessary.

Cancel / Close

Cancel or Close leaves the import wizard. Use this while preparing the file if you decide not to proceed. Closing before the final Upload does not import the customer rows.
