Calculate staff commission before or after VAT in Rekaz

Last updated: September 15, 2026

You can calculate the report’s commission before or including VAT. In Commissions Reports, use VAT in commission → Exclude VAT or Include VAT. The commission basis and amount change while Provider sales stay the same. This report option does not edit invoice tax or the staff member’s commission rate.

Keep the period, filters and rates fixed when comparing the two modes. The example has eight bookings for one provider at 7%, with sales of 550 SAR. Total commission is 33.47 SAR excluding VAT and 38.50 SAR including VAT.

Before you start

Reports → Commissions Reports.

  • You need permission to view commission reports and financial values. Editing commission rates requires additional permissions and is unnecessary for this comparison.

  • Identify the booking period, branch and provider. Use the same selections for both VAT modes.

1. Open the commission report

Open Reports, then Commissions Reports. Read the eligibility note at the top and choose the booking period using the date button. The example uses September 1–14.

2. Keep the filters consistent

Open Filters and select the branch, provider, customer or order type as needed, then choose Show Results. This example selects one provider. Keep these choices fixed while comparing modes.

Under VAT in commission, choose Exclude VAT. Wait for the figures to refresh and check Total in the provider summary. The example shows 33.47 SAR, with 550 SAR in sales and a 7% rate.

You can identify the commission VAT basis and reconcile booking amounts, summary totals and the export.

What changes? Exclude VAT calculates commission from the provider’s service-value share after removing VAT. Include VAT includes VAT in that value. The selector does not change invoice tax rates, service prices or recorded payments.

Example: a normal, fully paid booking with one provider and no discount costs 50 SAR including 15% VAT, with a 7% commission rate. Excluding VAT gives a service value of 43.48 and commission of 3.04 SAR. Including VAT gives a value of 50 and commission of 3.50 SAR. These illustrate the calculation; they are not prescribed rates for your business.

Provider sales is not necessarily the commission basis. In the example it stays at 550 SAR in both modes while the summary’s Total changes. Check Service value per provider, Commission Rate and Commission Value in the booking table to understand the calculation.

When a booking has multiple providers, the service value is shared between them and each provider’s rate applies to their share. Do not multiply the entire booking value by every provider’s rate. A custom booking rate can differ from the default shown in the summary.

Commission is calculated and rounded for each booking and provider, then added together. The result can differ slightly from one calculation on the overall sales total. The example’s rounded booking commissions total 33.47 SAR excluding VAT. Review the booking detail before changing a rate to correct an apparent rounding difference.

The date range uses the reservation date. Keep the period, branch, provider and order type fixed during comparison. Search for a provider inside the summary filters only those summary rows; use Filters to apply the provider selection to the report and its booking details.

The report includes fully paid bookings that are confirmed and have started, or are marked Done, while partially refunded bookings use the remaining amount. Unconfirmed, not-yet-started or incompletely paid bookings may be absent. Check booking and payment states before blaming a zero result on the VAT selector.

For gifts and packages, commission uses the provider’s share of the original service price. Do not apply the normal-booking example directly to a session covered by a package or gift. Check Order Type and the service value in the same row.

Opening the report from its basic route starts with Exclude VAT. Reloading a report link retains the selection in that link. Treat it as a report selection, not a permanent global setting for every report or staff member, and check the selected button before using or exporting the figures.

The summary rate is the provider’s default; a booking may have a custom rate. Comparing VAT modes requires changing neither. Custom rates narrows the results to overrides; return to All when you need every matching booking.

If values appear as asterisks, check financial-value permissions. If sales are present but commission is zero, check the provider or booking rate rather than assuming VAT caused the zero.

Export uses the current period, filters and VAT mode. Name the file with its period and VAT basis, especially when keeping both versions. Use the booking details in the file and keep Provider sales distinct from the service value used for commission.
