What is the difference between Per item and Per order loyalty stamps in Rekaz?

Last updated: September 15, 2026

Per item grants a stamp for each eligible unit in an order. Per order grants one stamp for an order containing an eligible purchase, regardless of its eligible quantity. An order containing three eligible services therefore earns three purchase stamps with Per item, or one with Per order, subject to the space remaining on the card and any separate action rewards.

Choose Per item to reward the quantity of eligible services or units purchased. Choose Per order to reward the number of qualifying orders. This setting controls purchase stamps; the number of stamps needed for a reward and the free reward services are separate settings. The pictured example selects Per order and keeps a reward threshold of four stamps.

Before you start

Open an existing stamp-based Loyalty Program in the Rekaz dashboard.

  • You need permission to manage loyalty and an existing stamp-based program. On Manage Loyalty Program, check that it is Active if you expect purchases to earn stamps.

  • These steps configure an existing stamp program. Convert to points changes the program type; it is not the control for choosing Per item or Per order.

  • Review current earning and reward services before editing. Changing the earning mode does not require changing prices, creating a sale or sending a message.

1. Open the stamp settings

Under Marketing Tools, open Loyalty Program and select Stamps Configuration. Check that this is a stamp-based program and that its status is appropriate for earning rewards.

2. Review earning and reward services

Review Services that earn stamps and Free services for redemption. Keep the existing selections if they are correct. To change them, open the relevant list and select the service and price option you intend. Do not leave either list empty.

3. Choose Per item or Per order

Under How do customers earn stamps?, choose Per item to count eligible units, or Per order to grant one stamp for a qualifying order. The example selects Per order. Also review Stamps for reward; changing the earning mode does not require changing this threshold.

4. Review action rewards and save

Review Earn on actions as an additional source of stamps, then select Save. Keep those settings unchanged if you only want to change purchase-stamp counting. Resolve any service-selection warning before saving again.

5. Verify the saved mode

Open Stamps Configuration again and review How do customers earn stamps?. Confirm that your saved option remains selected. Per order is selected in the example.

Your chosen earning mode is saved and remains selected when you reopen Stamps Configuration.

Calculation example: three eligible services in one order earn three purchase stamps with Per item, or one with Per order. One eligible service earns one with either mode. These examples assume enough room on the card and no additional action stamps.

For mixed orders, count only eligible units. Two eligible services and one ineligible service produce two purchase stamps with Per item, or one with Per order. An order without an eligible item does not earn a purchase stamp merely because Per order is selected.

Per order does not mean one stamp per day or per customer. Three separate qualifying orders can earn three stamps for the same customer, within the card threshold.

Per item follows eligible quantity, not just the number of distinct service names. Check the specific price or size option selected in the earning list: different options for one service may appear separately.

Services that earn stamps identifies qualifying purchases. Free services for redemption identifies the rewards customers can choose. Selecting a reward service does not automatically add it to the earning list.

The settings form requires at least one earning service and one reward service. If Please select at least one service appears, select the required services and save again. The English earning-list helper says an empty list allows all services, but this form rejects an empty selection. Use explicit selections rather than clearing the list to include everyone or disable earning.

Stamps for reward is the threshold for completing a card, not the number awarded per order. With a threshold of four and a balance of three, an eligible purchase fills the remaining one stamp rather than adding three more in full. When the card is complete, review reward redemption before expecting further purchase stamps.

Purchase stamps are linked to payment recorded against a qualifying order. Do not count each appointment or payment instalment as an independent stamp event. Once an order has been awarded its purchase stamps, another payment on that same order does not award those purchase stamps again.

A free line or a line whose total is zero does not qualify for purchase stamps. A reservation covered by a package visit is not a new purchase of the service every time it is used. Keep buying a package separate from using its visits.

Earn on actions is an additional source of rewards. For example, Ordering online can add a reward according to its own settings, on top of purchase stamps. Check these settings if a balance is higher than the basic example; switching the purchase mode does not require changing them.

Changing the mode does not recalculate stamps already awarded. Review the customer’s actual loyalty balance and history for a later purchase. The card shown on the configuration page is a design preview, not a real customer balance.

If the new mode is missing, reopen the settings and confirm the saved selection. If a customer’s balance differs from your expectation, review the correct order, eligible items and quantities, payment, package coverage, remaining card capacity and action rewards before manually changing the balance.
