Add a question when its answer helps you deliver this service. For a haircut, asking about the preferred style is useful; asking customers to repeat information you already have adds work without helping them.

**Service Reservation → Advanced Settings → Custom Fields**

## Add Custom Field

Open this control to choose the kind of answer you need. The question belongs to the service you are editing. Adding it here does not create a new customer record or change an existing customer’s information.

Prepare the question and any choices before making it required. A short, specific question is easier to answer than a broad request such as “Enter all details”.

## Select Field Type

String Field collects written text; Numbers Field asks for a number; Date Field asks for a date. Use List Field for one choice from a list and Multi Select when more than one choice may apply.

Map Field asks for a location. Document and Image ask the customer for a file or picture. An image question, such as “Reference hairstyle photo”, asks the customer to supply a picture; the service’s Images Gallery is where you upload your own service pictures.

Choose the type for the information you need. A date question does not replace the appointment calendar, and a question about the number of guests does not set the service’s maximum booking quantity.

## Question Title

Write the question or clear field name the customer will read, such as “Preferred hairstyle”. A title is required in at least one of Arabic or English before Add will accept the question.

Make the request understandable without relying on the placeholder. The title remains the main explanation of what information is expected.

## Placeholder

Use this for a brief example or hint, such as “For example, shoulder-length layers”. It helps explain the form of the answer rather than supplying an answer on the customer’s behalf.

Keep essential requirements in the question itself. A placeholder is supporting guidance, and the preview of some answer types may not display it as a text box.

## Title and placeholder language

The title and placeholder each have a language selector. Enter the translation for each field separately and switch back to review it.

A second-language label that repeats the first language’s words is not a translation. For example, pair “Preferred hairstyle” with “قصة الشعر المفضلة” so both versions ask for the same information.

## Is required?

Enable this when the answer is necessary to provide the service. The question list shows Required and the preview marks the title with an asterisk.

Leave preferences optional when you can still provide the service without them. Requiring a reference photo from every haircut customer, for example, can make booking harder for someone who wants to discuss the style in person.

## Show in website?

Use this switch to control whether the question is intended to appear on the website. Review it separately from Is required?; the two switches express different decisions.

The editor’s preview can still display a question after this switch is turned off. Reopen the question to check the stored draft switch state; do not use the preview alone to judge website visibility.

## Add / Save / Cancel

Add places the new question in the service draft. Save applies edits to an existing draft question. You still need the service’s final Create or Save action to store the service changes.

Cancel discards changes made since opening the question editor. If you change “Preferred hairstyle” and then cancel, reopening the question shows the earlier title.

## Back while adding a question

Back returns to the type chooser. Selecting another type starts a fresh question form; the title entered for the earlier type is not carried across.

Choose the answer type before writing a long question and its translations. If you selected the wrong type, go back before spending time on the rest of its fields.

## Drag handle and question order

With more than one question, drag the handle to put them in a helpful order. Ask for the main choice before any follow-up detail—for example, hair length before the preferred style.

The displayed preview follows the new order. Reordering retains each question’s text and settings; it does not turn an optional question into a required one.

## Question trash icon

The trash icon removes that whole question from the service draft immediately. It is different from the trash icon beside one option inside a list question.

Check the question title before clicking. Removing a newly added question does not require a confirmation dialog in this editor.
