A service gift is tied to the service and price option purchased. In the current screens, Edit in Gift Details lets you change the recipient and message; it has no replacement-service field. Activate opens appointment scheduling for the purchased service. This path does not provide a combined service exchange and price-difference payment against the same gift.

For example, changing the message or recipient on a manicure and pedicure gift does not make it a massage gift. Likewise, do not assume that a 60-minute session gift code applies to a 90-minute option with an automatic additional payment. These steps help you identify the entitlement and inspect the controls before agreeing how to handle an exchange.

## Before you start

Rekaz dashboard → Orders → Gifts → the relevant gift.

- Open the correct business and locate the gift by buyer, recipient or service. Check the customer, gift status and amount before taking action.

- The example is an Active, paid Reservation gift for قص شعر at 80 SAR. A fixed-value Gift Card follows a different path; do not infer its rules from a service-gift screen.

- These steps inspect options only. Do not press the final Activate button in scheduling, save a change or resend the gift when your purpose is to ask about an exchange.

## 1\. Review the purchased service and gift type

Open Orders, then Gifts, and find the correct gift. Review status and amount, then choose Actions and View. In Gift Details, read the service name, type and price. The example is قص شعر, a Reservation gift priced at 80 SAR, rather than unrestricted credit for any service.

## 2\. Inspect editable details without saving changes

Select Edit in Gift Details and scroll to the fields. Recipient Customer and Message can be edited, with buyer and redemption-link information also displayed. There is no field here to select a replacement service. Leave the values unchanged, choose Cancel inside the form, then close Gift Details.

## 3\. Distinguish activation from exchange

For the Active gift, open Actions and Activate. Check the service under Selected services and Amount due. The example retains the hair service and shows 0.00 due. This screen schedules the original service with a specialist. Use the top Close control without selecting the final Activate button, even if a time is already selected automatically.

## 4\. Recognize the start of a separate gift

On Gifts, open New Gift. Service Selection offers types such as Reservations and Gift Cards. This starts a separate gift rather than editing the one you inspected. Do not select a service or proceed to payment for this check. Close the window and confirm that the original gift status is unchanged.

## Result

You identify the gifted service and editable fields, then close the forms with the original gift unused and unchanged and no new payment.

Service versus price option: exchanging a manicure for a massage differs from changing the duration within one service. Both require checking the original entitlement. Gift activation selects the purchased service and price option; it does not present the catalogue for choosing a replacement service.

What does Edit change? Gift Details exposes Recipient Customer and Message. The message is the card’s greeting, not an instruction to replace its service. Changing the recipient changes the recipient recorded on the gift; it does not turn a service gift into cash credit or a general voucher.

Activate in the gift’s Actions menu opens scheduling. Activate inside that screen performs redemption; it is not an exchange preview. The form can automatically select a nearby appointment and specialist. Check the defaults and do not press the final button just to test whether an exchange is possible.

Why is a unit price shown when nothing is due? The example displays the 80 SAR service value while Amount due is 0.00 because this route does not request another payment to redeem that gift. A Unit Price or discount display does not make it an exchange or price-difference checkout. Do not change a number as a substitute for a documented service exchange or additional payment.

A service gift is different from a fixed-value Gift Card. New Gift separates Reservations, Subscriptions, Packages and other types from Gift Cards. A monetary value on a service gift does not make it unrestricted credit for any service. Opening the Gift Cards tab does not convert the existing gift.

New Gift starts a separate transaction. Do not assume it cancels the old gift, transfers its value or links an additional payment to it. Issuing a replacement before resolving the original entitlement can leave two gifts or two payments instead of the intended exchange. Review the situation before issuing or collecting anything new.

Do not rename or reprice the catalogue service to exchange one gift. That changes service configuration; it is not a documented exchange of that particular entitlement. Resend Gift and sharing the redemption link also do not change the service the gift grants.

If Activate is missing, check gift type, status, recipient and account permissions. The example is an Active reservation gift with a recipient, not an expired, redeemed or unpaid gift. A missing action in another state does not prove that an exchange or refund occurred.

To arrange handling beyond these screens, prepare the gift or order number, status, original service and option, amount paid and discounts, requested replacement and price, and any prior redemption or refund. Review the case with your business administrator and Rekaz support before promising to switch the code or collect a difference. Do not assume an automatic conversion or guaranteed support-operated exchange.

Gift cancellation, returning money and changing an order are separate from exchanging its service. Do not cancel the gift or process a refund merely to inspect options. Cancel in a gift’s Actions menu is not the same as closing the editor. In this guide, use Cancel inside the edit form or the top close control to leave safely.
