# Stop renewal links in subscription expiry notifications in Rekaz

Open Customize for the customer Subscription Expired notification, turn off Add renew link and save. Keep the notification itself enabled if you still want to notify customers that their subscription has expired. You do not need to disable every subscription notification.

An unpaid renewal can appear because Rekaz prepared a renewal order to obtain a payment link when sending an expiry notification. An order alone does not mean the customer paid or the new subscription became active. This setting concerns your customers’ subscriptions; it does not control your business’s own Rekaz platform plan renewal.

## Before you start

Marketing Tools → Whatsapp notifications → Subscriptions.

-   You need access to edit WhatsApp notification settings in the correct business. This changes the customer expiry notification type, rather than one customer’s subscription only.
    
-   Review the existing additional notes and sending time so you can preserve the intended notification settings. The pictures show the built-in message preview, not a newly delivered customer message.
    

## 1\. Select the customer expiry notification

Under Marketing Tools, open Whatsapp notifications. Select Subscriptions, then Subscription Expired for Customer. Keep its notification switch on and select Customize for the selected notification.

## 2\. Review the notes and sending time

Review Notes and Notifications time. Preserve the text and time your business needs. The example has empty notes and a six p.m. sending time. Do not add the Renew Payment Link tag if you do not want a renewal invitation in the text.

## 3\. Turn off Add renew link

Turn off Add renew link inside the customization dialog. If it is already off, leave it off. Review the preview inside the dialog. Do not switch off the expiry notification in the main list.

## 4\. Save the notification settings

Select Save and wait for the customization dialog to close. Check that Subscription Expired remains enabled in the notification list.

## 5\. Verify the saved setting

Open Customize for the same notification again. Confirm that Add renew link is off and that Notes and Notifications time are as intended. Close the dialog after checking. Review any previously created renewal order separately; this setting does not delete an existing order.

## Result

The expiry notification remains enabled, and Add renew link is off when you reopen its customization dialog.

The two switches have different purposes. Subscription Expired enables or disables the notification. Add renew link, inside Customize, controls the renewal link. Turn off the latter when you want the expiry notification to remain enabled.

Changing this setting does not cancel an existing renewal order or change its payment status. If a renewal already exists, open the customer record and that renewal’s order. Check paid and remaining amounts and the subscription status before taking action. Avoid cancelling the original subscription by mistake.

This is not a payment cancellation or refund instruction. An unpaid renewal order is not evidence of a charge; check its payment transactions.

Subscription Reminder and Subscription Expired are different notifications. Do not disable the reminder simply to remove a link from the expiry notification.

If Notes contains a written renewal invitation, review it so the message agrees with your new setting. Renew Payment Link inserts a tag in the notes; do not add it to this notification if you do not want a renewal invitation. This field allows 100 characters and up to three tags. The example leaves it empty.

Turning off the renewal link does not remove every link from the message. Subscription management or review links can remain and have different purposes.

Manual renewal and other routes your business may use, such as custom messages or automated phone calls, are separate from this setting. If another renewal appears, record its order number and creation time and establish its source with Rekaz support.

Do not rely on this change to disable a previously sent link or retract an earlier message. Review the relevant order separately when dealing with an existing renewal.

If an expiry notification does not arrive, check its enabled state, WhatsApp balance and notification history. A saved configuration does not establish that a message was sent or delivered.
